COIN OP CHICAGO ELECTRIC NICKELODEON PLAYER PIANO With XYLOPHONE, PRICE REDUCED
THE CHICAGO ELECTRIC COIN OPERATED SELF PLAYING NICKELODEON PLAYER PIANO WITH WOOD XYLOPHONE. Looks to have had a "Ground Up" Restoration/ Rebuild, including being Re-strung, New Hammers, Rebuilt Pneumatics, Tubing, Etc. It uses a 10 - Tune "A" Roll and comes with 5 of those. The Xylophone seems to need some adjustments, since it sometimes plays stronger than other times (there is some kind of adjustment down below that does seem to increase or decrease how strong that plays). It will need to be tuned once moved and is a bit out of tune even now (I don't know how to tune a piano and my friend that used to do it has recently passed away).
It's a BEAUTIFUL MACHINE! The Cabinet is Oak and measures 45" wide x 26" deep x 64 tall.
This is a very heavy machine (maybe 800# if I had to guess). It is at about ground level in our house except for 1 step in the front of the house. The coin mechanism is there, but when you drop a coin it, it doesn't always trip the start coil like it should. From what I could read about The Chicago Electric Nickelodeons, not many of them were made, so they are quite rare today.
